About

DR. KAYLEIGH HUNNICUTT, PHD, MED, MA

Hey there! I’m Dr. Kayleigh Hunnicutt, licensed clinical psychologist and mindset coach. I’m physically located in the Columbus, OH area; however, I serve clients in a variety of locations, depending on the type of service provided. For clinical therapy services, I practice under my psychologist license in the state of Ohio and I also hold an APIT that allows me to practice telehealth in all 40 PSYPACT states. I hold multiple advanced degrees in various areas of psychology (see below) and overall have thoroughly enjoyed an extensive and varied career in the field of psychology.

My current practice primarily focuses on providing therapy and coaching for high achievers and goal-oriented individuals. My goal is to help my clients not only overcome difficult circumstances, but to help use those circumstances as a springboard for living their most empowered lives.

My career has included work/training within counseling and coaching areas in different capacities over the span of 12 years, and I have worked/trained in the field of psychology for approximately 17 years altogether. In a therapeutic context, I have experience providing direct services in community mental health agencies, school districts, and in private clinics. I have also provided mental performance coaching with elite athletes and high performers.

Having a “combined” PhD means that I have cross-training in clinical, research, and school psychology domains. As such, I also have extensive experience in the field of school psychology, as well. I have worked in several school districts across California and Ohio. Throughout these placements, I have completed psychoeducational assessments, Section 504 Plans and related evaluations, individual and group counseling with students, goal creation and progress monitoring for students (academic, social/emotional, behavioral), implementing response-to-intervention (RtI) processes in multiple schools, creating and monitoring behavior intervention plans, completing functional behavior assessments, completing manifestation determinations, etc. I’ve been fortunate to be trained in a strong research-based background, including training in research-based methods for determining patterns of strengths and weaknesses. (Note that I no longer provide psychoeducational assessment services.)

Previously I have been involved in research across a myriad of topics involving high-risk and vulnerable populations with both adolescents and adults. I have also served on a county workgroup focused on reducing localized opioid use as the workgroup’s data analyst. I have been published in peer-reviewed journals; authored numerous community research reports; and have presented at conferences at the national, regional, and local levels. I have mentored undergraduate and graduate students and co-taught university courses. I currently sit on multiple boards of directors in the local community in an effort to help elevate educational institutions.
